My other model railways....
Macclesfield Hibel Road (N)
Macclesfield Hibel Road is an N gauge model of the main Macclesfield station and goods yard at Hibel Road which closed in 1960. The layout is set in the early 1950s, after nationalisation but with many reminders of its former life as the main LMS station of the town (and before that, as the junction of the LNWR and NSR). It was Railway Modeller's November 2024 Plan of the Month

This layout is available for exhibitions within an hour's drive of Congleton, Cheshire (no overnight accommodation required). It has it's own lighting, and is self-supporting. The layout needs a minimum of two operators, but preferably three, and is transported in two cars (provided my friends with big cars can make the date).

Many more photographs, a history of the site, and details for exhibitions are on the website Macc-Hibel-Road.

Astbury Junction (N)
‘Astbury Junction’ is a town-based loft layout set in the early 1950s (BR early crest). I set it in the Peak District north-eastern corner of Cheshire, which allows me to run a mix of ex-LNER and ex-LMS types plus BR standards and an odd ex-GWR visitor. It isn’t based on a specific place, but the buildings bear a passing resemblance to those around Marple Bridge, where the GCR/NS joint line from Macclesfield met the GCR/MR joint line to Hayfield. It was featured in the N Gauge Society Journal issues 6/22 and 1/25.
